Job Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Applicants should have basic mechanical skills
- Applicants must have demonstrated ability to operate snowmobiles and ATV's
- Snowmaker's must be able to work 12 hour shifts as needed during the ski season, including weekends and holidays. Overnight shifts may be necessary
- Working in a team environment the applicant must be able to communicate effectively with other team members.
- First Aid and CPR training is an asset.
Job Description:
- Snowmaker's work in extreme weather conditions and must have the ability to make on the spot decisions depending on the weather.
- Responsibilities include making snow, maintenance on the trails and slopes, shoveling out lift pads and snowmaking hydrants, pushing snow, setting up snow guns, keeping the snowmaking system running and other tasks assigned by the snowmaking supervisor.
- All snowmaker's assist in the delivery of Snow Valley Resorts' Snowmaking Plan, including completing daily operational logs and staff records. Snowmaker's are required to safely operate snowmobiles, snow removal vehicles and attachments.
- Snowmaker's shall monitor weather and wind conditions to enable the most effective placement for snowmaking equipment. Constant monitoring of all snowmaking equipment is required to ensure maximum efficiency of the snowmaking system.
- Snowmaker's work in a team environment and constant radio communication with all departments working on the hill is required at all times.
