Summer Adventures Day Camp offers a summer of challenge, adventure and fun-filled memories for adventurous 5 to 13 year old boys and girls.

Set among our beautiful ponds and hills, Summer Adventure's Day Camp will offer kids the excitement, challenge and activities usually found only at overnight camp.

Classic Program ages 5-13

• Includes: swimming, canoeing, recreational kayaking, wall climbing, ropes course, bouldering wall, archery, games, hiking, environmental appreciation, songs, arts and crafts and more...

Skateboard Program ages 6-13

• five 1/2 day sessions teaching proper fundamentals and skill development
• including: ollies, pop-shove-its, kick-flips, heel-flips, manuals, board slides and grinds
• board & safety equipment must be provided by the camper (helmet, wrist guards, knee & elbow pads)
• remainder of time in camp at Snow Valley includes swimming, boating, wall climbing, archery, etc.

Cheerleading ages 5-13

• weeks 2, 4, 6.
• focus on safety and fun
• concentrating on motions/jumps, stands & stunts, cheers & chants, some tumbling
• a finished "routine" will be performed on the evenings of July 17th, 31st, & , August 14th at the Minesing Community Centre at 7PM along with the performance of the Musical Theatre Camp
• campers also participate in regular camp activities including , swimming, canoeing, wall climbing etc.

Musical Theatre Camp ages 8-13

• 3 - 2 week sessions
• features: acting, singing, dancing, performing, production, costume & set design
• includes a day trip to a "Theatre By the Bay" production during each session
• concludes with a stage performance at the Minesing Community Centre July 17th, 31st & August 14th at 7:30PM
• children will also participate in regular camp activities including swimming, wall climbing etc.

Fine Art Program ages 8-13
with renowned local artist Lynda Giles

• weeks 1, 2, 5, 6.
• basic drawing techniques of water colour painting
• pencil drawing including shading, texture, proportion and perspective
• should complete a drawing by the end of camp
• campers also participate in regular camp activities
• materials included

Golf ages 8-13
with Murray & Julie St. Onge

• weeks 2, 4, 5
• instruction for all abilities
• skill development in grip, ball position, stance, posture, alignment, putting & chipping
• Mon.-Thurs. AM campers bussed to Tangle Creek
• Fri. AM campers implement skills learned in a game at Green Acres. Prizes awarded
• Mon.-Fri. PM campers return to Snow Valley for lunch and afternoons of regular camp activities

Hip Hop Dancing ages 6-13

• week 4
• focus on safety & fun
• a finished "routine" will be performed on the evenings of July 19th, 31st, & , August 14th at the Minesing Community Centre at 7:20PM along with the performance of the Musical Theatre Camp
• campers also participate in regular camp activities

Tennis ages 8-13

• weeks 1, 3, 6
• focus on fun, creativity and athleticism
• we will offer a balanced approach to fun & skill development through "guided discovery" & game based learning
• should have own racquets
• campers also participate in regular camp activities

Leader-in-training 14 year-olds
Counsellor-in-training 15 year-olds

skills development includes:

• learn to use equipment in all activity areas including canoes, kayaks, wall climbing, ropes course, archery etc.
• learn to introduce children to these activities in a safe, positive and fun environment
• minimum 2-week enrolment and participation in pre-camp training sessions

Minimum enrolment required for Skateboard, Art and Golf programs. Campers can be dropped off and picked up at Snow Valley or return bussing is available from Barrie locations. See list in the transportation section.
