On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, the Government of Ontario declared a second Provincial Emergency to address the COVID-19 Crisis. In addition to the provincial emergency, the province is imposing a stay-at-home-order that will directly impact the operations at Snow Valley. These strict new measures will see Snow Valley join all non-essential businesses that closed January 14th. The closure will affect our Skiing/Riding and Snowtubing operations. Snowshoe operations will continue as scheduled.
I recognize this is doubly disappointing news to be receiving especially as we were anticipating a reopening day of January 23rd. Snow Valley’s snowmaking and grooming operations were complete, and we had prepared a fantastic surface ready for our anticipated reopening. Unfortunately, the delay of 28 more days of lockdown will impact our ability to deliver on our 100 Day Guarantee or offer any of our lesson programs.
Snow Valley has made the difficult decision to provide refunds and credits for all season passes & lesson programs. This doesn’t mean we are throwing in the towel on the season, however with the lack of direction coming from the Provincial Government we feel this is the best decision for our passholders and lesson participants. Details on the refund/credit process and timing will be posted on our website in the coming days.
We are experiencing an incredible amount of customer inquiries. Your patience is appreciated during this time as our staff work through this increased volume of calls and emails.
Snow Valley is grateful for your loyalty and dedication to our ski resort. We hope that you will continue to ski, snowboard and snow tube on the slopes of Snow Valley when we can re-open. Please take this Covid-19 provincial lockdown seriously and follow provincial health recommendations.
Until then, be safe, be kind, and be responsible.
