Food & Beverage: Bar & Cocktail Servers

Food & Beverage Employees are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and to assist with customer questions and concerns. As a front-line employee you will assist guests in a friendly and efficient manner. You will be responsible for general food preparations and cooking tasks, maintaining and cleaning of equipment and service areas, and practicing safe food handling. Job duties rotate and you may also be responsible for processing transactions on our POS system. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays. A Smart Serve certification will be required.

Lift Operator

Lift operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all lifts, and the customers that use them. As a front-line employee you will assist guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Snow Tubing Park Supervisor

Department: Tubing Park

The Tube Park Supervisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and to assist with customer questions and concerns. You will supervise a team of 20+ on a daily shift assigning duties, recognizing workplace hazards and advising staff, promoting teamwork, creating schedules, & record keeping. You will promote excellent communication between other departments (i.e. grooming and snowmaking). The Tube Park Supervisor requires previous supervisory experience, the ability to engage actively in a very fast paced environment, cash handling techniques, proficiency with MS Software packages, enjoys working outside in a winter environment, demonstrating your organizational & administrative skills. This position requires flexibility in the working schedule as the successful candidate will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Snow Tubing Park Attendants are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Snow Tube Park, and the customers that use them. Tube Park Attendants rotate through various jobs that include the loading and unloading of guest on the lifts, ticket checking, starting the guests down the tube runs, and assisting guests at the bottom of the tube park. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to help promote our popular activity of Snow Tubing around our local area.  This team will be travelling around the region, representing Snow Valley at different community and special events.  The successful candidates will need to enjoy being outside and interacting with large groups of people.  This position requires you to be operating a portable snow tubing slide at events.  Many of these events will occur on weekends, holidays and evenings, so candidates are required to work these shifts

Snowmaking Technician

Department: Outdoor Operations

Snowmaking Technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our snowmaking system. Snowmaking is a 24hr, 7 day a week operation that is constantly evolving as each shift changes. You responsible for creating and maintaining snow levels across the entire resort using high pressure air & water to ensure excellent snow quality for our guests. You will maintain snowmaking equipment before, during and after use to ensure efficient performance and safety of equipment. You will be responsible for checking snow texture and making adjustments as needed, reporting to the Snowmaking Supervisor any changes in weather and be in constant communication with the entire crew. Snowmaking keeps you outside in all weather so an enjoyment of the outdoors is a must.

Snowcat Operator

Department: Outdoor Operations

You are a vital member of the Grooming team, ensuring the snow grooming equipment is operated safely and efficiently.  You work well with a team and continually strive to provide our guests an exceptional snow surface. You maintain the ski slopes during all snow and weather conditions to the highest possible standard.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the safety of fellow employees and guests
  • Responsibility and sensibility to maintain safe snowcat operation
  • Maintain skiing surfaces to highest level possible
  • Log fuel consumption daily
  • Ability to learn how to operate all snowcat equipment and develop general ski hill knowledge
  • Minimize down time through basic preventative maintenance, cleanliness and up-keep of machines
  • Maintain good working relationship and communicate work instructions with co-workers
  • Report potential trail hazards to the Operations Manager, Ski Patrol or Duty Manager by 8am
  • Receive daily working instructions from Operations Manager and Supervisors
  • Daily, as needed, communication with shop mechanics concerning mechanical problems
  • Keep the interior of the machines clean, including removing all garbage and wiping the dashboard and cup holders etc at the end of every shift
  • No smoking in the cats, no eating while driving. If you bring a drink, it must be in a sealed spill proof cup. No alcohol is ever allowed in the cats, even by passengers
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of area and equipment including all groomed runs, grooming machines, implements are an asset
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, comprehend and understand English fluently
  • Team player and can work well in small groups
  • Able to climb on and off the vehicles frequently
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time while operating the snowcat
  • Able to use two-way radios (both speaking and hearing instructions)
  • Ability to perform night shift work

Maintenance/Operations

Department: Outdoor Operations

As a member of the Maintenance Team, your duties would include but not limited to the  regular maintenance on all vehicles and equipment, starting up and shutting down all ski lifts, as well as building maintenance when required. The role is best suited for an individual that is a team player along with a positive attitude and is quick to learn.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Conduct maintenance tasks on equipment and building as requested
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment
  • Snow removal when needed
  • Use of hand tools
  • Various other tasks as required
  • Continuous learning
Requirements:
  • Own transportation
  • Valid drivers’ licence
  • Ability to work day or evening shifts
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Mechanical aptitude (small engines or mechanics licence an asset)
  • Knowledge of various hand tools
  • Own toolbox an asset
  • Ability to work in cold and all-weather conditions
