Snow Valley Resort Lesson Program Refund Policy:

The Fine Print: (1) Credit Account – Credit accounts have no cash surrender value.

All program participants MUST have a valid Season Pass or Lift Ticket.

Pass or lift ticket must be attached to the participant’s jacket or pants and visible to Instructors and Lift Attendants.

Program Access Card must also be attached and visible. Students cannot participate in lessons without a Pass/Lift Ticket and Program Access Card.

Program Access Cards, Season Passes and Program Lift Cards are mailed to participants. Plastic loops for attaching cards are available at the resort upon opening.

On lesson start dates, staff will hand out loops to any required participants.

If you forget your Program Access Card, Season Pass or Program Lift Card, our Information Desk can print you a temporary ticket once.

For lost passes, a reprint fee of $25 will be incurred.

We want to ensure the most successful experience for every lesson participant.

Please let us know if your child has a particular need or condition.

For children who require extra assistance in their group program, we recommend a Discreet Buddy who gives them their own “personal assistant” to ensure they are comfortable in the group, understand instructions, and will always ride next to their Buddy on the chairlift.

Please call our Information Desk at 705-721-7669 ext. 0 if you have questions about this option or want to purchase this service for your child.

Instructors are unable to wait for participants who are running late.

If you are running late for your lesson, we will try to assist you with meeting up with your class/Instructor; however, the facility is quite large, and the staff will not remain in the same area each week.

Snow Valley is not responsible for lesson time missed due to arriving late.

Snow Valley reserves the right to cancel any program before the start due to lack of enrollment, weather conditions, or other considerations.

In the event of a facility closure or cancellation of an individual program day by Snow Valley, the program will be extended an additional week into the 9th or 7th week on the same day and at the same time. It will also be extended if the participant also purchased a Rental Add-On or Program Lift Pass.

In the event of extreme weather, please stay tuned to our website and social media for updates. Do not assume that we are open or closed.

Students are assessed throughout the program. Students will be given an evaluation report card in an 8 Winter Weekend or 6 Winter Night program on the final day of class.

This report card will provide their current ability level, skills they have accomplished and the next steps for further development. If you miss the final day of class, report cards will be held at the Information Desk until April 2025 for pick up.

At Snow Valley, every lesson participant and Snow School staff member has the right to feel safe and comfortable in our lessons.

Snow Valley will make every reasonable effort to provide a safe and nurturing environment. Snow Valley does not tolerate bullying in any of its forms.

Participants are expected to treat our staff and other participants respectfully.

Participants will be informed of our expectations on the first lesson day and throughout the program.

Participants who engage in unsafe behaviour towards themselves, staff and other participants or negatively affect the lesson program’s quality may be requested to leave the program for the day and remaining weeks of the program.

Refunds or credit will only be issued if a participant is dismissed from the program.

Lesson Program Frequently Asked Questions

All our groups are created based on Skiing/Snowboarding Ability and Age. Our primary focus is to get groups with similar skill abilities together. This promotes the learning experience and makes for a more enjoyable group dynamic. We form groups based on age to encourage social experience for our students. Based on abilities, it is not always possible to have exact matches in age, but we are always considerate of ‘age-appropriate’ placements.

All students will be evaluated in the first two weeks of lessons and moved to a different class/level if necessary.

Special requests will be considered but will not always be granted due to the high enrollment volume. If you have requested a specific instructor, groupings with friends, or anything beyond our regular grouping methods, we will do our best to accommodate you. Please respect that we care where each student is placed and aim to provide the best groupings for all involved in our programs.

Unless the Snow School has cancelled a program, there are no make-up lessons for group programs. Missed lessons by students, for any reason, in a multi-week program cannot be made up and will not be refunded.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate jumping into another group.  To maintain consistency in our class sizes, safety and flow of progression, we cannot have students attend classes they are not assigned to.

There are NO program classes for the 2023-2024 season on Family Day weekend, February 17th and 18th. The only exception to this is U League Race Teams, which will run.

We intend to have the same Instructor teach the same group each week, but just as students sometimes miss days, so do our Instructors.

If, for some reason, an Instructor is unable to teach their usual class, a substitute will be provided.

Everyone on a sliding surface must have a valid lift ticket or pass, limiting the locations from which to watch lessons occur.

Our Kidz Village has bleachers to watch, and our Adventure Learning Centre is partially viewable from our Day Lodge Deck.

For parents who are skiing/snowboarding, if you would like to observe, we ask that you do so from a distance so as not to distract the lesson.
