Position Type: Seasonal, Part Time & Full Time

Hours of Work: Variable, weekends, evenings, holidays

Term: November to End of March 

Job Overview:

You are a vital member of the Grooming team, ensuring the snow grooming equipment is operated safely and efficiently. You work well with a team and continually strive to provide our guests with an exceptional snow surface. You maintain the ski slopes during all snow and weather conditions to the highest possible standard.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the safety of fellow employees and guests
  • Responsibility and sensibility to maintain safe snowcat operation
  • Maintain skiing surfaces to highest level possible
  • Log fuel consumption daily
  • Ability to learn how to operate all snowcat equipment and develop general ski hill knowledge
  • Minimize down time through basic preventative maintenance, cleanliness and up-keep of machines
  • Maintain good working relationship and communicate work instructions with co-workers
  • Report potential trail hazards to the Operations Manager, Ski Patrol or Duty Manager by 8am
  • Receive daily working instructions from Operations Manager and Supervisors
  • Daily, as needed, communication with shop mechanics concerning mechanical problems
  • Keep the interior of the machines clean, including removing all garbage and wiping the dashboard and cup holders etc at the end of every shift
  • No smoking in the cats, no eating while driving. If you bring a drink, it must be in a sealed spill proof cup. No alcohol is ever allowed in the cats, even by passengers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Knowledge of area and equipment including all groomed runs, grooming machines, implements are an asset
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, comprehend and understand English fluently
  • Team player and can work well in small groups
  • Able to climb on and off the vehicles frequently
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time while operating the snowcat
  • Able to use two-way radios (both speaking and hearing instructions)
  • Ability to perform night shift work
