Snow Valley Ski Race Programs

League Race Programs (U Programs) are recommended for skiers at Ability Level 5.

Racing participants must be able to ride the lifts unassisted.

All program participants require a valid lift ticket or season pass.

All ages are of December 31st, 2025.

Race Training

Race Pod

Ages 4-5 | Ability Level 4+

This program focuses on developing free skiing technique, building confidence and skill at speed, and a love of the sport. This is a nurturing, non-competitive group program that will exposes these little racers to some gated environments and an opportunity to test out their newfound skills in a fun home race! Ski only.

Program Length 8 Weeks | 2 hours

Dates: Saturdays (starts January 10) or Sundays (starts January 11)

Times: 9:30 am to 11:30 am

Race Squad

Ages 6-14 | Ability Level 5+

This non-competitive program focuses on improving skiing skills and introducing racing skills and on-hill element training. Participants will test out their new skills in some fun inter-squad races! No race experience is necessary. Ski only.

Program Length 8 Weeks | 2 hours

Dates: Saturdays (starts January 10) or Sundays (starts January 11)

Times: 9:30 am to 11:30 am or 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm

Race Development Squad

Ages 6-13 | Ability Level 5+

This program is for racers who are considering the league program and want to spend more time on snow in a training environment. Racers will be with the same coaches both morning and afternoon and must be picked up by parents for lunch hour (between 11:30-12:30). Two in-house races will provide competitive opportunities. Ski only.

Intro to Race - 6 Winter Nights

Ages 8-14 | Ability Level 5+

This fast-paced hour and a half on-hill is a great way to learn the basic fundamentals of ski racing. Focus is put on skill development in a non-competitive environment. Participants will enjoy a Fun Race on the last evening of the program.

Helmets are mandatory, but no race experience is necessary!

Dates: Fridays (starts January 9)

Lesson Times: 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Impulse Training

Ages U8-U10 Athletes | Ability Level 4+

Participants will enjoy Impulse training on varied terrain. This training will not be in set environments, the focus is free skiing skill development. Athletes must be comfortable on Blue terrain.

Dates: Wednesdays Starting January 7th

Times: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Poduim Training

Ages U12-U19 Athletes | Ability Level 4+

Participants will train in set environments on varied terrain. Must be able to ride lift themselves. Athletes must be comfortable on Black terrain.

Thursday Night Intro to Adult Racing

Ages 18+ | Ability Level 5+

Get outside and enjoy winter with other adults – escape from the everyday! This 6-week lesson program is focused on fun racing! GS, SL and dual SL training with our awesome coaches. Enjoy good exercise and après ski socials each week. No race experience is necessary!

Program Length 8 Weeks | 1.5 hours

Dates: Thursdays (starting January 8)

Lesson Times: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

League Ski Racing Teams

Racing starts Saturday, January 3rd & Sunday, January 4th. League programs runs from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm.

All league racers (U Programs) must visit the Alpine Ontario website to register and pay the required Alpine Ontario fees.

Athletes are required to sign a Code of Conduct at the start of the season.

Teams race at Snow Valley and other clubs. Training is on all non-race days at Snow Valley. Race season begins the weekend of January 3rd and continues for nine weeks on Saturdays and Sundays. All ages as of December 31st, 2025.

U8 - Race League

Ages 6-7 | Ability Level 5+

This team is House League racing – focusing on free ski skills, drills on varied terrain and an introduction to a race environment. Skiers must be confident on all terrain. Teams train and race primarily at Snow Valley.
