Pamela's Ski Tips for New Skiers

How to Ski Corn Snow

Not all snow conditions are skied the same. How do you have fun in sugar or corn snow?

Narrow your stance like in powder or bumps, stand on both feet and move away from them.

The snow will setup beautifully underneath them. Use the shovel of the ski to start the turn, and come off the tails.

Not all snow conditions are skied the same.

Sugar snow is so sweet to ski, but there’s a few things you need to do to have some fun in it.

One of them is narrow your stance almost like you’re in powder or the bumps you’re going to stand on both feet and move away from them.

The snow will set up beautifully underneath you. If you’re in a wedge sugar, snow is a great opportunity to narrow that wedge. Let’s go.

So my skis are closer together. I’m standing on both.

The snow is slowing me down and I’m able to steer. I use the shovel of the ski to start the turn and I’m coming off the tail.

What a great opportunity to get out and ski in this fun, sugar snow.

I look forward to meeting you on the slopes
